Explications pour cette œuvre :

Fred Grant (1943) has depicted the significant site of Pirilyi situated in the heart of traditional Spinifex country. This site forms part of the Minyma Tjuta Tjukurpa (Seven Sisters Creation Line) which traces the journey of a group of women as they traverse the country evading the pursuit of an older lustful man (Nyiru) who wishes to take the oldest as his wife. At Pirilyi, Nyiru throws a heavy piece of wood and injurers the woman before grabbing and returning to his camp with her. She eventually makes her escape whilst Nyiru sleeps and the pursuit continues.

These are creation beings who shaped the landscape as they moved through it. Leaving indelible monolithic reminders of their power and presence and a moral code that still guides Anangu on a daily basis.
