Explications pour cette œuvre :

Ned has painted the significant site of Pirilyinya and surrounding country. Pirilyinya forms part of the larger creation line of Minyma Tjitu Pampa (the Python Woman Elder) and cannot be elaborated on. Other sites of significance Ned stated were Makuratjara, Wakapukatjara, Tipil, Kalya and Mintul.

Ned Grant has cultural ownership over this swath of Spinifex Country and is the keeper of significant Tjukurpa. Tjukurpa is a deep and complex religious tradition generally referring to the energy of creation manifest in spirit beings, ancestors, animals, plants and geology. This Law is secret and privy only to initiated men and women. Tjukurpa is past, present and future all at the same time a force equally active today.

It is a guide for living life well explaining the relationships between people, plants, animals and the physical features of the land.
