Explications pour cette œuvre :

Lennard Walker (1946) is the cultural ambassador, the elder statesman, the missing link between past and present who depicts his lived environment brimming with meaning. he allows us the insights into a world we can scarily perceive. He is a senior custodian for the site of Kuru Ala and Kulyuru. Here, Lennard has depicted the significant site of Kulyuru associated with the Minyma Tjuta Tjukurpa (Seven Sisters Creation Line) This is a major womens narrative that follows a group of young women as they traverse Spinifex Country and beyond, always evading the amorous pursuit of the lustful older man Nyiru.

At Kulyuru, the women a tricked into digging for a prized Kuniya (carpet python) only to find, after digging a major water course, that it was Nyiru in disguise.

These are creation beings who shape the narrative within the landscape as they move through it. The 'sisters' eventually flee into the sky to become the Pelides constellation where Lennard says you can see them at sunrise in the morning sky.
